Atithi Devo Bhava: Hospitality Planned for Every Pilgrim

From dharamshala courtyards to wellness retreats — more than 5,000 rooms are planned so that no devotee is priced out of rest.

In Bharat, the guest is not a customer — the guest is a form of the divine. Atithi Devo Bhava is easy to print on a wall and hard to build into 500 acres. At Punyabhoomi, hospitality is being planned as a spectrum, so that every pilgrim, whatever their means, finds dignified rest.

The dharamshala, reimagined

At one end of the spectrum stands the oldest tradition of pilgrim hospitality: the dharamshala. The planned dharamshala quarters carry that tradition into modern comfort — clean, affordable family rooms around courtyards and fountains, close to the temples, honest in price and generous in spirit.

Rest, deepened

At the other end, wellness retreats are envisioned at the quiet edges of the campus — Ayurveda, therapies, pools and gardens planned to five-star standards, for those whose pilgrimage includes healing of the body as well as the spirit.

And every table in between

Between the two, more than 5,000 rooms and suites are planned in total, along with the prasadalaya for community dining at scale and a clean, varied food court for families. Booking will open only when the destination itself does — until then, no reservations are being taken, and anyone claiming otherwise does not speak for Punyabhoomi.

Punyabhoomi is a visionary destination currently under development in Nashik. It is not yet open to visitors, and no bookings or payments are taken. To receive milestone announcements, sign up on our website or write to seva@punyabhoomi.org.
